Guess who's one!!!

Our little man, Asher, turned one! I can't believe it! This year went by so fast. What a blessing he has been in our lives. At 12 months old this is what Asher is doing.....
~WALKING!!!
~plays peek-a-boo
~blows kisses
~says mama, dada, baba, ball, & UUHHNN (I think that is code for McCall's bugging me!)
~Patty cakes
~Has 2 teeth on the bottom & loves to brush them
~He has so much hair, I think he is due for another haircut. :(
He had his own little birthday cake & demolished it! He loved unwrapping presents. Now he thinks the presents under the tree are fair game. He just has such a fun personality, he is really happy and smiley. He is not very cuddly, just first thing in the morning he wants held for a few minutes. When I looked up the meaning of the name "Asher" it means blessed and happy. His name definitely fits him. Happy Birthday little man!

Decorating the Tree

We put up our Christmas tree yesterday and OH MAN was Asher into it. Everything we pulled out of the boxes, he was all over it! We were hanging orniments on the tree and he was pulling them off faster. We put up the baby gate in front of the tree and he reached over it and pulled orniments off! Mike keeps telling me I need to tell him "No" so he will learn, but he is so stinkin' cute, I can't do it. When he gets an orniment, he brings it to us with the biggest smile on his face.

Singing in Primary

Austin came home from church last weekend with spots all over his face. When asked what it was from he said, and I quote, "This is why you don't sing in Primary!" He put some of his dots on Asher's face too. My boys are so cute, even with dotted faces! I had to get a picture. (:

Thanksgiving

This year was the first year in my whole life having Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house. It turned out really good. Asher loved everything on his plate, he licked the plate when he was finished! Austin went to Escalante with his Aunt Jenifer and JaCee. We played the Barbie game, and I have learned to watch your back when playing that game with my Mom! I do have a lot to be thankful for this year. A wonderful husband, healthy, happy children, and family and friends that will support me and love me no matter what.

Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween this year. Austin was a zombie, McCall was a witch, and Asher was a leopard. We called him a baby jagwagger. If you have ever watched "Go Diego Go" you would remember the baby jaguar on the show. Well McCall couldn't say jaguar so she called him the baby jag-wagger. So on Friday, Asher and I went to the Halloween parade at the school. McCall saw me with the camera and kept posing. I had to tell her to act natural so I could get some pictures. When Austin saw me, he was trying to hide.

Asher did not like wearing his costume, after a while he gave up the fight and we went trick or treating around our neighborhood. Then we went to my parents so Uncle Joe could take Austin and McCall trick or treating.

Austin's costume came with a really scary, gross mask. He didn't wear it, because it was to hot, but he kept putting it on and scaring McCall. He tried to scare Asher, and he would just smile and try to grab the mask. Pretty funny!

Halloween Cookies

We made really cute Halloween cookies. McCall helped through the whole process. She loved it. Austin came around when we were frosting. Frosted a few, ate one, and then left. Asher gave up begging for cookies and fell asleep. (So cute!)

The Halloween Miracle

I can't believe it! Today is only October 17th and Austin Perry has his Halloween costume! Every year we are out the day before Halloween looking for a costume. He is SO indecisive. Then of course there isn't anything left. He has worn the same costume 2 years in a row twice! But this year he has a costume, it is something new, and it is 14 days until Halloween!! You'll have to stay tuned to see what he is going to be...

Crazy hair or hat day

Wednesday was crazy hair or hat day at school. My kids think that crazy hair day means that you can just wake up and go to school with bed head hair. Wrong-O! I gave them some suggestions on how they can wear their hair. They both decided that it was just going to be to much work and they would rather wear a hat. Okay with me!

Lost tooth

It's been wiggly for quite a while...

And finally on October 3rd McCall lost her first tooth!

She was eating a roast beef sandwich, and she said "it just came out" Then she took off out side and was running up and down the sidewalk yelling "I just feel so good!!!"

First Haircut

Okay, so a lot of people have been giving me a hard time about Asher's hair being so long, and saying that he needs a haircut. (I think they are all jealous he he he;-) We really wanted to wait until he was a year, but we finally gave in to peer pressure and took him. Here are some before pictures...

In the back he had a tail! It was so cute, he looked like our little monkey!

So I took him to get it cut, he did pretty good, he looked so tiny sitting in the chair. Now he can see better, and we can spike it up again. He still looks like a baby, I was worried that the hair cut would make him look more grown up.

Oh! Don't worry, I saved the tail in a little baggie for his scrapbook.

The rules

So McCall has always been very much into making lists. When she turned 5, she had a birthday party that she pretty much planned herself. She made a list of who she wanted to invite. She made another list of the food, decorations, games, etc. She likes to have things down on paper, so there is no question as to what is going on. So with Asher being a little wild man, crawling all over the place, McCall decided that he is just a little too out of control. (Like she's one to talk) Anyway he found the curio cabinet, and has been trying desperately to get to the things inside. McCall made a list of rules for the curio cabinet and posted them right on it. (Boy that looks classy) I asked her what on earth she was doing. She explained to me the situation with Asher. So she made up a list of rules for him.

The rules read...
1. Do not tutch (I think she means touch)
2. No fingrprits (fingerprints?)
3. No scratchis (scratches)
4. No opninge (opening-Mic got her spelling skills from her mother :)
Uh, do you think that she realizes that Asher can't read yet???

Arrow of light

Austin received his arrow of light. It was really cool, our scout group does such a great job at presenting this award. He also got a Webelos super achiever award for earning all 20 activity badges. What a cool dude! Much thanks to his amazing scout leader, she kept Austin and his parents on track to make it possible!

First day of school...at last

Well the kids started school a few weeks ago. They weren't very excited about it. I sure was! Austin is in 6th grade this year. I can't believe it is his last year of Elementary school. I keep telling him that the 6th graders "rule the school" he just gets embarrassed and tells me to stop. McCall is in first grade this year. I have been really nervous about having her in school all day, but she is doing really well with it, and it has been such a nice break for Asher. She told me that the coolest thing about school is that she gets TWO recesses!

We're in big trouble!

The day Asher turned 8 months old, he completely changed. He has only been rolling over good for about a month. All of the sudden he is crawling! The very next day he is pulling him self up in his crib and up to furniture. Mike had to lower the mattress in his crib. I don't get it? How did this happen? Have you ever heard the Kenny Chesney song "Don't blink"??? IT'S TRUE!!!

Bear Lake

Bear Lake is one of my favorite places to go. I always went with my grandma and grandpa Pratt when I was little. Mike and I have kept that tradition with our kids, we take them every summer. Sometimes we will rent a boat or wave runners, but usually we just hang out at the beach. This was Asher's first time going and his main goal of the whole day was to eat sand! He tried everything in his power to get the sand in his mouth. He did succeed a few times. Mike and I fought over who would get to change the next diaper.
Austin and McCall were completely happy the whole day, just going from the dirt to the water. It was so lovely, No computer, no phones, and no T.V. I did not hear an "I'm bored" the entire day.

One of the best things about Bear lake is the fact that there are few few weeks the entire year that you can go and it is warm enough to swim, so when you hit it just right it is awesome. Another thing is the raspberry shakes. Mike and I have never left Bear Lake without getting one.

Camping

We finally did it. After a couple of years of not camping we finally went last weekend. We even bought a camper last spring and have yet to use it. We went for Austin's Birthday. We camped at Montpelier Canyon in Idaho. It is about 30 miles out of Bear Lake. We didn't realise how far from Bear Lake it actually was. We reserved the camp spot a month ago. When we finally got there we were a little shocked. The Spot was nothing like it said it was online. No smooth place to put a tent (big roots sticking up everywhere and big tire marks like someone had got there truck stuck), no fire pit, no table. We drove back a few miles until we had cell phone service and called, of course they were closed. We went back and walked around the other camp sites. We noticed that the site next to ours was a lot better and had not been reserved, so we moved our reservation sign to that one and unloaded. It turned out really good. It was Austin's 11th Birthday so we made his favorite dinner in the dutch oven (tacos) and surprised him with cake and ice cream after. McCall was so excited to sleep in a tent that at about 8:00 she changed into her pajamas. Asher did so good. He was just staring at the fire. I think he may turn out to be another pyromaniac like his big brother.

Happy Birthday Austin

When Austin was 2 years old, he was such a blondie. He was a surprisingly good boy when he was 2. I remember thinking, if this is the terrible two's, this will be a breeze...Then he turned 3.
When Austin was 5, he was into Spiderman, Batman, Teenage mutant ninja turtles, anything super hero. Now it's soccer, video games, his bike, and friends.

Austin started playing soccer when he was 4. When he was 9 he was playing competitive soccer. He also likes basketball and football.

For Austin's 11th Birthday we went to Bear Lake. We camped on the night of his birthday. We surprised him by bringing a birthday cake, ice cream, and presents.
Austin is such an amazing boy. I feel so honored to be his Mom and to get to raise such a smart, fun, gorgeous boy. Happy Birthday Aust!

Harry Potter

I bought tickets for Harry Potter and the half blood prince movie a while ago for Mike, Austin, & me. Mike found out 2 days before that he had to work so Austin and I took his friend Kyler. The movie was SO good. I loved it! I guess I am going to have to go again with Mike, Darn it. McCall and Asher stayed at home with a babysitter. My first time EVER having a babysitter come to my house and watch kids. She is a really cute girl from my young women's class. It went really well.
